what status is the project currently in?

well, as most projects under heavy development, it is a mess :) check the changelog file for some information. the most recent version is 0.5.3 and is called "well there we go again"

you can view the current repository here http://projects.plentyfact.org/repositories/show/btoy

what is btoy technically?

btoy utilises Hendrik Sattlers obexpushd (written in C) as a daemon to receive files. btoy itself is mainly written in LUA (http://lua.org) with some help of BASH scripting. btoy-media uses ffmpeg and vorbis-tools for some media conversion.

what are the aims of btoy?

btoy is written to be highly configurable and flexible,

what do i need to run btoy?

To run btoy you currently need a computer running Debian GNU/Linux (other Linux distributions will be supported in the furture). It is very likely that it will run on current Ubuntu versions, too. btoy was designed to run on old hardware, too, and a Pentium II with 256MB Ram should do, however, conversion of vide files will take considerably longer on those platforms. You also will need one (or better) two bluetooth devices.
